Working with Children

The Caringbah Redbacks takes the protection of juniors players seriously and is determined to guard them against harm whilst under the club’s supervision. The club has determined the Child Protection, Prohibited Employment Act 1998 is applicable to its operations. To support this, the club has implemented a Policy and provides information and training to volunteers.

Introduction

The NSW State Government’s Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act makes it an offence for a person convicted of a serious sex offence (a prohibited person) to apply for, undertake or remain in, child-related employment.

The club has put in place a Policy to ensure that persons in direct contact with children, such as Coaches, Managers, Referee’s, Committee and other volunteers are familiar with their responsibilities in relation to child protection, complete the Prohibited Employment Declaration and Working with Children Check Consent Form and complete the Play By The Rules on-line training and assessment course.
