Working with Children

The Redbacks Commitment

The Caringbah Redbacks takes the protection of juniors players seriously and is determined to guard them against harm whilst under the club’s supervision. To support this, the club has implemented a Policy, provides information and training and appoints Member Protection Information Officer/s each year.

We also have a Child Protection Policy which our Coaches, Managers, Referees, Committee members and other volunteers need to be familiar with. Click here to access the Redbacks Child Protection Policy.

The NSW State Government’s Child Protection legislation makes it an offence for a person convicted of a serious sex offence (a prohibited person) to apply for, undertake or remain in, child-related employment (including volunteer work).

It is therefore, a legal requirement for volunteers who work with children such as our Coaches, Managers, Referees, Committee members and other volunteers to complete a declaration form every year which is available at: https://check.kids.nsw.gov.au/volunteer-declaration.php

To fulfil your obligations you will be required to;

1. Complete the form on-line,

2. Print, then

3. Hand to a Redbacks Member Protection Information Officer who will verify your identity, witness your signature and retain the form in a secure location.

The Redbacks are required to keep all Child Protection Forms in a secure location for at least 3 years and provide access to government agencies if required.
