Dear Club Members,

It’s horrible when you hear sad stories effecting people on the news but it’s so much worst when its one of our own. One of our Redback families-The West family (sons Saxon who played it the under 7’s last year and Zane who played in the under 8’s last year) had the worst news any family could wish for, dealt to them on Christmas Eve 2019, their beautiful son Zane was diagnosed with DIPG. This is an extremely aggressive and inoperable type of brain cancer that is ultimately terminal. Zane is deteriorating at a rapid rate and hasn’t been able to walk some days let alone play soccer- his no 1 love in life! We have to get him to the US for vital treatment to try and save his life because as it stands there is no cure available in Australia.

So many people in the community are doing wonderful things to help the family including meals etc. but we also really need the money to get the family over to the US and in to the trial. So far we are half way to the target on gofundme so we are now launching a silent auction online today where people can bid for many of the incredible items on there that generous people have donated.

Please go on to the auction site today – and check out the wonderful items. Bidding will go live on February 21st. In the mean time also please follow the facebook group for updates on the auction- @’Fight To Save Zane West’ Silent Auction Fundraiser.

Kind regards,

Andy Neudegg
