Season 2026 Player Placements – What You Need to Know
As we head into the 2026 season, we will be running our Player Placements for MiniRoos U6 through to U11.
You may have previously known this process as “grading days”. We are deliberately moving away from that language.
Placements are about development, not labels.
They help us place players in the right environment to enjoy their football, be challenged appropriately, and continue to grow alongside their teammates.
What are Player Placements?
Player Placements allow our coaching and technical staff to observe players in a relaxed, game based environment. We look at how players move, make decisions, interact with others, and enjoy the game.
This process supports:
- Fair and balanced team formation
- Long-term player development
- Positive playing experiences for all abilities
Every player matters, and every player develops differently. Placements help us support that journey and nurture our Redbacks through their football pathway.

- No pressure and no results focus
Players do not need to prepare anything special. Just bring boots, shin pads, water, and a positive attitude.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time and check in with our officials at the clubhouse.
A note for parents
Placements are not trials. They are one part of a broader process designed to place players in the best possible football environment for the season ahead.
Final team allocations will be communicated after all observations have been completed and SSFA have approved teams.
We are aiming to publish teams on our website at 5PM on Tuesday 4th of March.
We can’t wait to see our Redbacks back on the park as we build toward an exciting 2026 season
