Caringbah Redbacks Are Officially a 2 Star Club Changer! ⭐⭐
We’re proud to share some fantastic news with our Redbacks community: Caringbah Redbacks Football Club has been officially recognised as a Football Australia 2 Star Club Changer!
And… we’ve done it in record time, progressing from 1 Star to 2 Star in just four weeks.
What Does This Mean?
The Club Changer program is Football Australia’s national Club Development initiative, supported by the Australian Government through the Australian Sports Commission. It recognises clubs that are genuinely investing in safeguarding, inclusion, and long-term development — not just ticking boxes, but building a safer, stronger, and more welcoming club for everyone who walks through our gates.
Achieving 2 Star status means Redbacks has demonstrated real commitment to:
- Building a safe and inclusive environment for players, volunteers, officials, and families
- Strengthening our club’s governance and long-term planning
- Actively developing our volunteer workforce and member protection practices
About the Club Changer Program
For those who haven’t come across it before, Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program, aiming to protect and enhance clubs, make them stronger and more resilient, build welcoming and inclusive cultures, and educate players, coaches, volunteers, and officials on positive environments while planning for long-term viability and success.
Clubs work through 12 development modules, covering everything from Safeguarding and Women & Girls in Football, through to Governance, Finance, Participation, Workforce, Diversity, Equality & Inclusion, Marketing & Communications, Technology & Digital, Infrastructure, Stakeholder Alignment, and Values & Behaviours. As clubs demonstrate progress against these areas, they’re recognised with 1, 2, or 3 Star status, unlocking further benefits and support at each level.
It’s a genuinely national program, backed by the Australian Government through the Australian Sports Commission, and it’s used as a benchmark by clubs right across the country to build safer, more sustainable community football environments.
What 2 Star Actually Means for Redbacks
Reaching 2 Star isn’t just a badge — it reflects real, demonstrated progress. To get here, we have:
- Completed the Women & Girls in Football module
- Completed the Safeguarding module
- Worked with our State Program Manager on an action plan for the club’s ongoing development
It’s a step up from 1 Star, and it’s Football Australia’s way of formally recognising that our club isn’t just meeting minimum standards — we’re actively investing in the people and culture that make Redbacks a good place to play, coach, and volunteer.
What’s Next for the Club
Our 2 Star status is valid until Friday 23 July 2027, and with it comes access to some great new opportunities, including:
- Club Changer webinars and forums
- Coach In-Service Sessions
- Priority access to funding when available
- Networking with other clubs in the national Club Development Network
To maintain and build on this status, we’ll continue completing our annual Women & Girls in Football and Safeguarding modules, and keep working with our State Program Manager on a renewed action plan — with our sights set on 3 Star status down the track.
